A busy week-end

I don't usually skip a day posting but this week-end has been pretty busy.....

Friday Eddie, Selah, and I went to our pastor's house and helped set up for the yard sale that was held Saturday morning. The yard sale went really well and we met some really nice people. One girl I was helping had decided to buy a particular sweater she had found, so she added it to her big pile. When she was ready to pay she looked at the sweater and decided not to buy it. Once she had tossed it to me, I started noticing how much I liked the sweater, so I held it up to see if I thought it would fit. As I was holding it up the girl came and took it out of my hand and when I gave her a questioning look she told me that since it looked so good on me she decided that she wanted it after all! Oh well....I lost a great sweater, but we made a customer happy so I guess it was worth it :)

After the yard sale I was able to participate in a wedding shower for one of my good friends, Erin Woodberry. Her and her fiance Mark Tolan will be married in June. We had a lot of fun and she got a ton of stuff........it was good times!

This morning started out with a big breakfast at church...it was sooo good and of course we ate too much!! The breakfast gave Eddie and I the super energy we needed to keep nursery this morning....it went well but I think it wiped Eddie out...he decided to skip Sunday lunch and go straight to bed! Where do kids get all of their energy from anyway?! Eddie and I sometimes have a hard time keeping up! :)

Here are a few pics from the week-end....these are from the few times we were at home...

Selah loves looking out at the dogs when they are on the deck....

speaking of the dogs here is a picture of Snoopy kissing Roxie...awwwwww :)

Eddie said a good title for this pic would be:
"Welcome to the dirty South where neither shirt nor shoes are required in restaurant"

Selah's decorated mouth

On Sunday mornings Selah misses her morning nap so when we got back from church this morning Selah fell asleep on her changing table as Eddie was changing her diaper....she is asleep in BOTH of these....even the one with her holding on to her feet!!

Selah's first cooking attempt

I know I don't usually post twice in one day, but I have to make an exception on this one, because today Selah attempted cooking....well she didn't use a stove, and she didn't handle knives, and she didn't really mix any ingredients together, but personally I think stirring up flour is considered cooking...kind of :) I put down newspaper, a bowl, some measuring cups, and pile of flour and let her go at it. Some people might think I'm crazy, but she had a ball, and it really wasn't that much to clean up....so enjoy the pictures!

yes, she did try to eat it a time or two :)

Selah playing...

I'm glad it's Friday.....this week-end will be pretty busy. Our church is having a yard sale, so that will take up a good portion of the week-end....it should be fun though.......if you're around Easley anytime tomorrow come and check out the yard sale....there should be lots of good stuff! Just take the road that runs down the right side of Wal-mart in Easley and from there look for signs that should direct you to the yard sale.

This week Selah and I have been busy hanging out with lots of friends...it's been a really good week! I have continuously forgotten to take my camera with me on several occasions, so I didn't get any pics of Selah hanging out with some of her friends. I did take a few pics yesterday while she was playing that I thought were really cute, so I'm posting those today.

happily crawling down the hall

Selah loves to point just like she's pointing at the bears nose in this pic...she'll point at something and then babble off a few words that are still in baby language trying to tell us what it is....it's so cute!

Giving mommy a big smile..

Taking a swim

While at Wal-mart today I saw that they had their small kiddie pools for eight dollars, so I went ahead and bought one for Selah to enjoy this summer. Apparently Eddie must have been a little jealous that I didn't get him one too, since as soon as he came home from work he jumped in! :) I was able to capture a cute picture of Selah and daddy in the pool today....who says you can't swim inside? :) And where is the water you may ask? Well let's just say that Eddie was teaching Selah how to play "pretend."

Selah has a boyfriend...a friend that is a boy :)

After Selah and I got back from the YMCA we ate lunch and headed over to my friend Erica's house. I met Erica at the Y a few months back while I was working out on a treadmil.....we struck up a conversation and a friendship was born! As we got to know each other, we realized that we both had babies close in age. She has a little boy named Bryson who is nine months old, just one month behind Selah. Bryson and Selah are not only around the same age, but they look a lot alike...it's actually kind of weird...they seriously could be twins. I'll let the pictures that I've posted prove my point.... Anyway Selah had a great time playing at Bryson's house....of course Bryson tried to beat her up a few times being a typical boy and Selah shoved him down once, but overall they both came out in one piece and had a blast!

Bryson.....isn't he adorable?

Selah and Bryson playing together

this is too cute....he has his hand on her foot

I think they're having a meeting :)

Selah was super excited!

It's definitely a Monday...

Well this morning started off with a phone call from Eddie that once again he was stranded on the side of the road. The Turkey as Eddie has affectionately named his red Toyota basically exploded, and we think this time the engine blew up. Of course to replace the engine in the Turkey would probably cost about what we paid for it in the first place. So....should we have sold it a few months ago when a man offered to buy it from Eddie? Most definitely, but of course hindsight is always 20' 20'. I'm posting pictures of the Turkey which is now sitting on the side of our house in the grass.....don't you think it's just an incredible looking car? I'm sure as you read this you are deciding that you would love to buy this...right? :) Well...I can always dream right? I guess we're down to one car....good thing the Xterra is dependable or we would be in trouble!

The "Turkey"

Doesn't it look amazing? Don't you want to buy it? :)

Awwwwwwwww

In other news, this week-end was wonderful! We got to hang out with lots of friends, go to two amazing church services, and have our good friend Abbi stay with us Sat nite and go to church with us Sunday morning.....definitely good times!

We love you Abbi! Thanks for spoiling Selah! :)

Good times!

Last night Eddie, Selah, and I hung out with some good friends. Brian and Jennifer Hoover and their son Colton. Next week Colton will turn 7, and for part of his birthday celebration he wanted to eat at McDonalds with a few of his friends. The boys had a great time playing while the rest of enjoyed catching up.

First time at McDonalds

Afterwards we headed back to Brian and Jennifer's apartment where Selah discovered two incredible things: one was the Hoovers' dog Maggie. Selah squealed and laughed as she tried to pet Maggie...it was adorable! Maggie is a pretty big dog but Selah was not scared around Maggie at all.

Selah loved sitting on Maggie and petting her...and Maggie took it so well...good dog!

The second thing that Selah went nuts over was Colton's little tykes yellow car. She loved it! We definitely will have to start looking for something like this for her birthday....she'll love it!!!

Do I really get to ride in this car? All by myself?

Cruising on a Friday night :)

After we put Selah down we all watched the movie "Freedom Writers." It was an inspiring movie that ALL teachers should watch!!

Happy Birthday Colton!

TGIF!!!

Thank goodness it's Friday!!! This has seemed like a long week to me...I guess with Selah being sick we have stayed home most of the week, and I have a bad case of cabin fever! Plus Eddie and I (or should I just say mainly me:) have gone over cell phone minutes, so I've not been able to call anyone until have nine....that's not been fun at all! Thankfully our new month of minutes starts tomorrow so call away! :)
I'm very glad to report that Selah is acting a lot more like herself now. Although she still has a cough and somewhat runny nose, I think she's now on the mend!
Tonight we're headed to McDonalds with another couple and their little boy who is having a birthday...he chose McDonalds.....I mean where else does a kid want to go celebrate their birthday? :) I'm sure Selah will have a lot of fun being a part of the party! We'll definitely take lots of pictures as this will be Selah's first time at Mickey D's....that's pretty monumental, don't you think? :)

Selah peeking over the bed...another of our favorites!

Pajama Day

Yesterday was pajama day for Selah. Knowing that she felt pretty bad I decided since we were going to be home all day why not let her stay in her pajamas? So that's exactly we did.....I have to admit that it was pajama day for me as well. It's been a long time since Eddie has come home and found me without a shower wearing exactly what I slept in. I felt like a bum all day, so it'll probably be another very long time before that happens again! :)

Here's some great pictures that Eddie and I took yesterday once Selah started to feel better.....(don't worry there are none of me looking like a bum:)

This is one of her favorite places in our house

The very first smile of the day

Eddie came home for lunch and as he was holding Selah she fell asleep in his arms....she NEVER does this normally.
Eddie loved it!!

Precious!!

We had spaghetti for dinner and Eddie decided to have some fun with Selah.....he gave her some "mad" eyebrows...we thought it was hilarious but she was completely oblivious...she was focused on the food!

I (MM) was working out in the yard yesterday evening while Eddie watched Selah, and she found me through her window....she was so pleased with herself!

God's little surprises!

Not much new to report regarding Selah.....she is still not feeling well at all. I feel so bad for her. While she's playing she'll sometimes stop and just lay her head down on the floor...that's when you know that they definitely don't feel good. Just keep praying that God will completely heal her very soon. No new pictures today....Selah is still in her pajamas and not in the mood for a photo shoot. We'll definitely be camped here at home for the day!

We only ventured out for about an hour yesterday and that was for a quick trip to Lowes. My neighbor Ann had told me that Lowes had their ferns on sale for $7.00, and I had been wanting a few for our porch. Selah was completely fascinated with the garden department....she loved looking at all the plants and flowers. I finally found the ferns, but they were priced for more than $7.00, and I knew that I wasn't going to spend what they were asking for them. A lady came up beside me and told me that since a few of them had been damaged by the weather they were marked down to $1.74! I picked out three ferns and took them up to the register to have a price check.....the lady had been right! I got three ferns for under $5.00, and the ones I picked out don't look bad at all!!! As I was walking to my car I silently thanked God for his little surprises...he always knows just the thing that will make our day!! I'm so glad He cares about the little things in life!

Fussy Pants :)

Selah is Miss Fussy Pants today.........this is definitely not the norm. Although her cough seems to be almost gone, I think that she still doesn't feel very well. Poor girl.........I did get some pictures of her playing this morning before her nap. She seems super happy in these pictures....I think when she sees the camera out she becomes a little ham :) Letting her keep her paci in seemed to help as well...she normally only has it at naptime. I might be taking tons of pics today since that seems to put her in a better mood.....keep praying that this virus will be knocked out very quickly!

Selah has discovered how to open drawers....
Let's just say that life will never be the same :)

Love, love, love this pic!

Selah looks so big to me in this pic...
almost like she should be about 18 months instead of 9 and a half months....

I think she's trying to invent a new style of crawling in this pic..

Selah playing in her tent which she absolutely loves....
thank you Trent and Deana!!

Not feeling so good....

This morning Selah woke up not feeling well......she has been coughing like crazy....almost like she sometimes have a hard time catching her breath. She also has a little runny nose with it, but the worst part is the cough especially when she drinks or eats anything. I've given her a ton of TLC today along with some Tylenol to help her sleep and wipe out the low grade fever. I got a couple of medical books out and looked up RSV.....Selah might have this, but I'm not sure. I called the dr's office and have yet to hear from them.......let's just say that that office is beginning to know us on a first name basis! :) Well I just laid Selah down for a nap and thankfully her cough has subsided somewhat, so that's good. Anyway just pray that this virus will run its course very quickly......and of course thanks for your prayers as always!

More visitors from NC!

Today has been a great day.....this morning Pastor Steve brought such an annointed message. Eddie and I are really beginning to enjoy the church where we feel God has placed us. The people are really nice and friendly and they absolutely love to spoil Selah, but then again, who doesn't? :)
After church we met up with some friends who were on their way back to NC from GA. Chasity, Donna, and Cameron are wonderful, and it was really nice to see them again. Although I think they enjoyed seeing Eddie and I, Selah was definitely the one who was the center of attention!

Donna was trying to help Selah decide what she wanted to eat :)

No Tubes!!!!

Thank you to everyone that has prayed for Selah regarding her ear infection. It's definitely not been a fun process. After seven weeks, three antibiotics, and many trips to the doctor, Selah's ear infections are GONE! We are so thankful that God healed Selah, because if this last medicine had not worked, then she would have had to have tubes. Not that tubes are terrible or anything, but we are just thankful that God chose to heal her without the tubes. Thank you for praying!!

This week-end has been pretty relaxing...we were supposed to go to the beach with some family but those plans changed. We were really disappointed about the change of plans, but we have enjoyed our Plan B week-end which has included two evenings of hanging out with friends, a lot of shopping, and some great time with Selah. Speaking of that great time with Selah we of course had to post a couple of pictures for all you Selah fans. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Selah smiling away....

She's now teaching herself to read :)

What a great birthday!

I turned 28 years old yesterday...unbelievable! I'm getting old! :) Eddie had planned a surprise outing for my birthday but due to the cold rainy day and the fact that much of the outing would be outside we had to figure out Plan B. Plan B turned out to be a lot of fun! Eddie, Selah, and I drove to NC and met my parents and sister and Eddie's dad and stepmom at Concord Mills Mall to see what kind of trouble we could all get in for the day. We loved shopping, spoiling Selah (of course!), and eating some great food at Olive Garden! Selah even enjoyed her first couple bites of chocolate cake....she loved it....she has some great taste! :)
